The Russian confectionery factory “Red October” received the country’s first halal certificate. The manufacturer talked about it on its official website.
Roskachestvo issued the Halal certificate, which applies to several of the company’s products. The certificate was issued for the production of sweets “Alenka”, “Kozinachki with salt”, “Grilyazhnye” and “Bird’s milk”.
Roskachestvo also considered the production of Alenka, Elite and “Babaevsky” dark chocolate to be halal.
Sharia specialists participated in the inspections. The certificate received will allow the company to increase production volume.
Halal sweets must meet the established level of product quality and must not contain components such as gelatin and carmine.
The Red October factory already has similar international certificates. We are talking about products that the company supplies to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
The first national halal standards were approved in Russia on December 30, 2022. As the Federal Accreditation Service notes, today halal products are in demand not only among Muslims. Many citizens consider halal to be a sign of high quality, which is why the demand for this type of product is growing.
