The Federation Council recommended to the Ministry of Digital Development to create a state platform for the development of artificial intelligence (AI), where developers will have access to IT infrastructure and data. This was reported by Kommersant in reference to the decision of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council.
Russian developers who do not have enough resources should have access to government data to create artificial intelligence technologies, says Artem Sheikin, deputy chairman of the council for the development of the digital economy of the Federation Council.
Considers that the platform should host data sets, from which it will be possible to train artificial intelligence systems. Developers will have access to the IT infrastructure.
The project, according to Sheikin, should be financed from budget funds. The Ministry of Digital Development told the newspaper that no recommendations have yet been received from the Federation Council.
Market participants surveyed by the publication confirm that, under sanctions, servers are expensive and difficult to obtain. They support the idea of creating a state platform for the development of AI. At the same time, experts talk about technological difficulties and the risks of creating unequal conditions in the market.
