Two-factor authentication in state services has become mandatory for all users

Now, to use state services, you will need to enter a one-time SMS code. Biometric login is also available.

Two-factor authentication first appeared in State Services in March 2023, then its activation was left at the discretion of the user.

In August, the Ministry of Digital Development announced that it would be mandatory on October 1. The department believes that with two-factor authentication, citizen accounts will be more secure.

As of August, around 22 million users have connected to the service. According to the Ministry of Digital Development, additional protection includes 300 thousand to 400 thousand people per day. It was previously reported that some of the electronic documents of the State Services will be the same as their paper original.
