More than 30% of entrepreneurs encounter disagreements already in the first year of existence of a joint company. Among the most common causes of conflicts are different visions of business, unequal contributions to the common cause, illiterate distribution of resources and areas of responsibility, a study on business associations in Russia, reviewed by RB, showed. The organizers of the study are the founder of the Soter consulting company, Milana Dzhidzhoeva, and the managing partner of the Grits and Partners law firm, Dmitry Grits. 258 entrepreneurs participated in the survey, the data was studied from July to September 2023.
According to the results of the study, 14% of entrepreneurs were deliberately looking for a business partner. More than half of them (57%) formed a partnership by accident or under the influence of external circumstances. The authors of the study believe that this indicator indicates a crisis of conscience when choosing a business partner.
One in three (32%) business owners reported experiencing conflict or disagreement during the first year of partnership. The worse the agreements between co-owners are fulfilled, the sooner the first conflict will occur and the lower the general assessment of satisfaction with the company.

At the same time, almost a third of respondents (27%) responded that there was no significant conflict in their relationship.
79% of entrepreneurs consider that an open conversation with their partner is the most effective way to resolve conflicts. The second most popular method is expert help (11%).
