Law enforcement agencies conducted searches in stores for Nikita Efremov’s limited-edition sneakers, Mash reports. Both boutiques, in Moscow and St. Petersburg, are currently closed. Police confiscated several thousand pairs of shoes after a customer complained that the store could not confirm the authenticity of the products.
Police raided businessman and blogger Nikita Efremov’s limited-edition sneaker stores. Boutiques in Moscow and St. Petersburg are currently closed “for technical reasons,” Mash reports.
According to the publication, law enforcement officers seized 5,000 pairs of shoes during store searches.
The reason for the inspections was a complaint from one of the customers that the store could not confirm the authenticity of the merchandise. According to this buyer, his request for licensing agreements from Adidas and Nike to sell products was rejected: the boutique was unable to provide him with the relevant documents.
Nikita Efremov’s resale platform specializes in the sale of limited edition clothing, shoes and accessories in Russia and the CIS. On the boutique’s website you can buy, for example, Nike, Adidas and New Balance sneakers.
Previously, the founder of the boutique, Nikita Efremov, published a video in which he explained the situation with the accusation of selling counterfeit branded products. In the video, he noted that “there is not and cannot be the possibility of a finger slipping away.”
