The First Court of Appeals of General Jurisdiction confirmed the conviction against the founder of the IB Group, Ilya Sachkov. Interfax reported this.

The court dismissed the appeal of Sachkov’s lawyers and the verdict issued on July 26, 2023 remained unchanged.

Ilya Sachkov’s defense stated that they would challenge the sentence before the court of cassation.

The founder of the IB Group, Ilya Sachkov, was sentenced in July to 14 years in a maximum security colony for high treason. The process took place behind closed doors.

After the verdict, Sachkov called it “a victory for those he interfered with.”

“This is a victory for those who do not need national cybersecurity, who do not need a sovereign and self-sufficient Russia in information security,” Sachkov wrote.
