The issue will affect all devices running Android 5.0 and earlier, as well as iPhones running iOS 12 and later. Withdrawal of support will be effective as of October 24, 2023.

This means that the specified devices will no longer receive updates from WhatsApp, including new features and security patches.

To find out if your smartphone is affected, you can check the operating system version in your phone’s settings.

For Android, go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information. For iOS, go to Settings > General > About.

If you can’t update your device, you’ll need to upgrade to a newer smartphone to continue using WhatsApp.
