The Repatriation Department of the Israeli Embassy temporarily suspended the reception of Russians. The reception of visitors for the issuance of repatriation visas is closed until October 27.
The Israeli Embassy in Russia announced the suspension until October 27 of accepting Russians to obtain repatriation visas. This is stated in a message from the embassy on the VKontakte social network.
“More information will be posted on the embassy website and social media. The consular section operates without changes, the embassy said. The embassy did not explain the reasons for the suspension of the reception.
The decision to suspend repatriation is due to a shortage of employees in bureaucratic structures, Adolf Shaevich, Russia’s chief rabbi according to the Congress of Jewish Religious Organizations and Associations in Russia, told Gazeta.ru.
“This is because of what is happening in Israel today. Apparently all bureaucratic structures there have reduced their activities due to many circumstances,” Shaevich said.
Only citizens of the Russian Federation who have passed consular checks and received an entry visa can travel to Israel.
