Yandex.Taxi has started testing new rules for picking up a car in Moscow; Now the service will offer users to go to a permitted parking place if the car reaches a point where stopping is prohibited. RBC reports this.
The new function was implemented in test mode on several Moscow streets with difficult stopping conditions, for example on Novy Arbat.
The algorithm has been tested for several weeks and its work area will soon be expanded, Yandex clarified. The company noted that the innovation aims to comply with traffic regulations.
“The user can easily reach all proposed landing points in a few minutes on foot,” Yandex representatives added.
The authorities have been discussing the accident situation in the taxi sector for several years. At the end of 2022, a new taxi sector law was adopted with a series of requirements for taxi companies, drivers and taxi aggregators. Most provisions of the law went into effect in September 2023.
