More than ten years later, Amazon finally announced that it will support the ePub format. Ignite and will truly compete with other brands of digital readers on the market. But, unfortunately, there is still no native support for format files.
In fact, the brand has announced that it will update the Send to Kindle feature, where users can send files in various formats to read on the Kindle – it’s even possible to send pictures. Thus, consumers will be able to upload ePub files and read books directly from Amazon reader.
Users Use the Send to Kindle app To send ePub document or other files supported by devices or Kindle app, the file is converted to KF8, Amazon’s eBook format. The novelty is expected to hit the market at the end of 2022.

“Install the Send to Kindle app on your compatible device to send documents directly to your Kindle library. From the end of 2022, Send to Kindle apps will support the EPUB (.EPUB) format.”
While the change is a big one, other major manufacturers like Sony and Barnes & Noble have been accepting the ePub format for years. In fact, the International Digital Publishing Forum considers ePub to be the main technical reading standard.
