The Ministry of Digital Development plans to increase the use of Russian software in the country. The new “road map” for software development approved by the Ministry of Digital Development aims to increase the share of Russian products in the field of general system and application software. In 2022, the application level of Russian software reached 50%, and new targets are set more ambitiously: 54% in 2023, 58% in 2024 and 63% in 2025.
The plan for the implementation of Russian software predicts 5-7 percent growth this year. Support measures and requirements for critical information infrastructure owners force companies to switch to domestic software. However, outside government agencies and organizations with state participation, growth in the application of Russian software remains low, especially in the b2c segment.
Experts emphasize that despite the ambitious plans of the Ministry of Digital Development, the actual implementation of Russian software is still limited to individual segments, and more time is needed for a full transition to domestic software products.
