Telegram was updated to version 10.2 on October 29: users will be able to quote part of a message, change the appearance of links, and Premium subscribers will be able to choose personal colors and more.
News added by the developers:
- “Answers 2.0”. Users will be able to quote a specific part of the other person’s message and send replies to other chats, for example, to move the discussion to another group.
- Quotes in the text of messages.. Now any text can be formatted as a quote. Plus, in Messenger you can now add multiple quoted snippets to a message at once.
- Link configuration. Users will be able to customize the appearance of links by placing the link preview above or below the message text, changing the size of the photo it contains, and also choosing a link to preview.
- Personal colors. Premium users can choose one color or a combination of colors for their name in chats.
- New Stories features. They can be rewinded and you can also use the camera flash for selfies with brightness and color adjustments.
Telegram is targeting an IPO in the second half of 2025. Additionally, the company has $2 billion in debt and Telegram’s preparations for an initial public offering were reported in spring 2021. So the probable date for its celebration was 2023. According to experts, the best option for the company is to list on the New York Stock Exchange. In 2021, Telegram expected a valuation of between $30 billion and $50 billion and an issuance of 10% to 25% of the shares.
