Most Russians, at exactly 70 percent, prefer to buy everyday goods in physical stores if prices are low, and 69 percent consider store location to be an important factor. These results were revealed in a study conducted by Fix Price and Romir, which examined what factors influence Russians’ everyday purchasing preferences.

Nearly 66% of survey respondents say they find it easier to buy certain categories of everyday items in stores rather than online. However, approximately 31% of respondents prefer online shopping.

Price plays an important role: 55% of consumers are willing to visit brick-and-mortar stores if they save up to 30%, while another 15% are willing to visit brick-and-mortar stores if they save between 30% and 50%. Low-priced offline stores are most popular when purchasing clothes, shoes, household and kitchen items, household chemicals, and products with a long shelf life.

Cost-effective methods include using loyalty cards (57%), participating in store rewards programs (46%), buying multiple items at once (44%) and comparing prices between stores (41%). This research shows that despite the growth of online shopping, brick-and-mortar stores remain important for Russian consumers, offering variety and value propositions.
