The Ministry of Digital Development will stop granting direct subsidies for computer developments that substitute imports

The Ministry of Digital Development will abandon the program of providing subsidies to IT companies that are engaged in developments in the field of import substitution. Kommersant writes about this with reference to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev.

The decision to cancel the grant program was made based on the results of an audit of its work for 2022-2023. Instead of providing subsidies to IT companies, the Ministry of Digital Development will develop preferential loans to developers and help stimulate demand for their products.

In July 2023, the Ministry of Digital Development suspended the subsidy program to support import-substituting IT developers. The suspension came against the backdrop of the arrest of Deputy Director of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maxim Parshin, on charges of large-scale bribery.
