Yandex introduced a new speaker with voice assistant Alice. “Midi Station” has new “Alice” capabilities and can control Zigbee-enabled devices without Internet.

Yandex announced the start of sales of the Station Midi smart speaker with new Alice functions

The column began to process requests faster thanks to the neural process. “Station Midi” recognizes people better by voice, and in the event of Internet interruptions, the speaker will continue to execute commands with Zigbee-enabled devices. Even without network access, you can request to turn on the light or adjust its brightness and warmth.

The device is equipped with a powerful processor that allows it to process all voice requests without sending them to the cloud. And the built-in Zigbee module allows you to interact directly with Zigbee devices.

A voice activity detector (VAD) has been implemented in the Midi station. It allows you to set different scenarios. For example, in the morning, as soon as the voices sound, the speaker turns on the music or the kettle. You can activate the function and configure scenarios in the “Home with Alice” application.

Specifications

“Station Midi” has three speakers with a total power of 24 W. Especially for this model, the company has developed a woofer that is responsible for deep bass.

It is backed by two high-frequency speakers and Room Correction technology adapts the sound to the acoustics of the room.
