The government approved tests of cargo drones in the Samara region

Light and heavy unmanned aerial vehicles will be tested in the Samara region. The corresponding legal regime was approved by the government, reported the Ministry of Economic Development.

According to the project, tests will be carried out with light and heavy drones weighing more than 30 kg. They will be used, among other things, for the transport of commercial goods and for the cultivation of agricultural land. It is planned to carry out about 18 thousand flights.

The project operator is the civil drone developer “Transportation of the Future”. The company announced the construction of a drone production plant in April 2023.

A special legal regime for testing drones is already in force in the Moscow, Tver and Tomsk regions, in Bashkiria, the Kamchatka Territory, as well as in the Khanty-Mansiysk, Yamalo-Nenets and Chukotka autonomous districts.
