The Asian manufacturer’s smartphone was tested in the MegaFon laboratory, where a network similar to the commercial one was recreated.

The device was tested for compliance with 3GPP cellular communication standards and correct operation in 2G, 3G, 4G networks used in Russia.

The focus was on basic functions: transferring data, making calls, sending SMS and switching between mobile communication technologies.

KasperskyOS for Mobile testing included more than 250 test cases in which logs of the exchange of signaling information between the device and the network were recorded.

This made it possible to collect the necessary information for further development and accelerate the appearance of systemized devices on the market.

Kaspersky Lab is also conducting internal testing in China and the Middle East to verify the functionality of the operating system with local telecom operators.

The next step will be to select independent laboratories in these areas for further research.
