Global sales of electric vehicles have increased by 34% so far this year

Sales of electric vehicles worldwide increased by 34% in the first nine months of this year. This was reported by Reuters based on data from Rho Motion analysts.

According to analysts, China contributed significantly to the global growth in electric vehicle sales. In China, the electric car market grew by 29% despite the closure of the government subsidy program for electric vehicles at the end of 2022.

The European electric vehicle market during the analyzed period grew by 26% compared to the same period last year, Rho Motion reported. Analysts stressed that the level of electric car sales in Europe largely depends on government support measures.

It was previously known about Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD’s plans to build its first plant in Europe.
