Wildberries modified about 20 work rules after an inspection by the Attorney General’s Office

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation announced the completion of an investigation into wild berries. After this inspection, the company changed about 20 rules governing the relationship between the marketplace, the seller and the buyer, the department said in a statement.

  • the buyer is no longer obliged to check the quality of the goods upon receipt;
  • the date of return of the goods is now considered the time of rejection;
  • The delivery period may only be extended by agreement with the buyer;
  • The buyer’s right to reject the product, including a technically complex device, is unconditional.

In addition, the buyer must compensate for the costs of returning goods of inadequate quality under the following conditions:

  • this buyer has a low purchase rate;
  • the product is large, fragile and often replaceable;
  • the distance to transport the merchandise is significant (the department did not specify details).

At the time of placing an order, the buyer will be informed of the amount that must be paid for the return of the merchandise.

Previously, after an inspection by the prosecutor’s office, Wildberries canceled the 3% commission when paying for products with cards from the Visa and Mastercard payment systems.
