Representatives of Russian companies at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, which took place on November 15, discussed scenarios for increasing the investment attractiveness of the economy, as well as the conditions for completing the transfer of companies to Russian jurisdiction. The press secretary of the head of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, spoke about the details of the meeting.

Large companies at a meeting with Putin discussed the transfer of companies to Russian jurisdiction

According to Peskov, the “overwhelming majority” of Russian businessmen who participated in the conversation said they had faced “illegal treatment abroad.” In general, the issue of moving companies to the Russian Federation was discussed in detail.

The Kremlin is interested in companies creating new businesses and creating jobs on the territory of the Russian Federation. During the meeting they pointed out the importance of companies “saving the money they earn here in their homeland.”

The spokesperson noted that the conversation was “detailed” and, based on its results, a series of questions were asked through the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

In 2023, several Russian companies registered abroad began to change jurisdiction to Russia. In the summer, VK shareholders and board of directors approved the “move” from the British Virgin Islands to Oktyabrsky Island in the Kaliningrad region.

HeadHunter is also planning redomiciliation. TCS Group recently confirmed plans to change jurisdiction, but the final option is yet to be determined.
