Qualcomm is preparing to introduce the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, which will be less powerful than its predecessor, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, according to recent leaks. This information was revealed by the famous leaker Digital Chat Station.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will reportedly be manufactured with TSMC’s 4nm process, similar to Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2.

But the main difference is in the core structure: The new chip will include one main core clocked at 2.63 GHz, three performance cores clocked at 2.4 GHz, and four performance cores clocked at 1.8 GHz.

At the same time, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 has 2.91 GHz, which is higher than the maximum frequency of the main core.

In the graphics department, the new chip is equipped with Adreno 720 GPU, while Adreno 725 was used in the previous model. These changes appear to be aimed at creating more affordable options in the mid-range segment and reducing costs for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Qualcomm is expected to announce Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in the first quarter of 2024.
