Previously, the department planned to receive 300 billion rubles under this article until the end of 2023. Siluanov expressed hope that this money will reach the budget on time. The main tax payment period for companies in Russia is the period from November to December.

Vladimir Putin signed a law in August 2023 on the payment of excess profits tax to large companies. At the end of July, the State Duma approved the bill in third reading.

Organizations whose arithmetic average profit in 2021 and 2022 exceeds one billion rubles will have to pay the fee. The rate will be 10% of the excess profit.
