At the end of October, the competition for creative specialists “Design Workshop” of the Agency for Creative Industries (ACI) under the Moscow Department of Culture was held. We tell you which projects won awards.

The “Design Shop” merchandising concept contest has ended: results

The “Design Workshop” brings together experienced and novice designers, illustrators, marketers and other creative specialists who, as part of a competition, need to develop and present designs for various souvenirs and merchandise for project partners. The partners of the third “Design Workshop” were VDNKh, TsNIIMash (Roscosmos company), the Lomonosov group, the Museum of Russian Impressionism and the Silno art residence (Dagestan).

For the third “Design Workshop” more than 290 applications were submitted and a total of 30 teams participated. We present the teams whose solutions the jury liked the most.

“There is contact”

Participants: Maria Vasilkova, Yulia Shmalko, Anastasia Aronchik, Mikhail Yakimov, Anastasia Mukhtarova.

Track – TsNIIMash (Roscosmos company).

TsNIIMash set out to develop souvenirs for its employees, the design of which should include a space theme. “Hay Contacto” devised a collection of sweatshirts and t-shirts with AR prints, as well as a three-dimensional calendar, where each torn sheet reveals a model of the globe, a role-playing board game and candles. and chandeliers in the shape of a space station. Additionally, the team proposed unusual packaging for the souvenirs, in the shape of a satellite or spaceship.

“Damn MISiS”

Participants: Anastasia Divekha, Anna Dovgalyuk, Veronika Klyuchareva, Margarita Bolgar, Arseny Koveshnikov.

Hint: Lomonosov group.

For the Lomonosov group, it was necessary to prepare a series of brochures and articles for interns, residents and VIP guests of the group that reflected the innovative spirit of the organization. When developing the design, the Damn MISIS team was inspired by the works of MV Lomonosov, in particular his “Tale about the Origin of Light, Presenting a New Theory of Colors”, many items in the collection were decorated with waves of light. On the other hand, it is worth highlighting the tabletop air humidifier in the form of a group building.

“Gentle”

Participants: Lada Kobeleva, Ekaterina Bozhenova, Anastasia Pak, Adelina Bikkinina.

Track – VDNKh.

On the VDNH circuit, the teams had to develop environmentally friendly products for the 85th anniversary of the exhibition centre. “Dobrye” offered a collection of products made of cotton, wood and aluminum, inspired by iconic objects from the exhibition: the items were decorated with drawings of space rockets, ears of wheat and images of the arch of the main entrance of VDNKh.

“Grotesque”

Participants: Egor Alexandrov, Natalia Oskina, Nikita Tkachev, Maria Grigoryan, Eva Kuzmina.

Track – art residence “Fuerte”.

The Silno art residency came to the Design Workshop with the task of developing two lines of souvenirs, one of which would reflect the values ​​of the art residency and the second would present Dagestan souvenirs in a new way. Keeping this in mind, the “Grotesk” team came up with functional products that customers can use in everyday life and when traveling, but at the same time, the items are a memorable souvenir of Dagestan, as their design references the cultural heritage. and flavor of the republic.

“Painters”

Participants: Maria Kasatkina, Nadezhda Zaitseva, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Elizaveta Krylova, Nikita Andreev.

Track – Museum of Russian Impressionism.

For the Museum of Russian Impressionism, teams had to create souvenirs for children ages 3 to 12 that would inspire them to study art and be creative. The “painters” offered trading cards, transfer tattoos, sticker packs, T-shirts and other items featuring animal drawings and stylistically reworked paintings from the museum’s collection, as well as mascots (Vatrushka the dog and Gingerbread the cat) and even a handwritten font . for use in the communication design of children’s products.

The winners shared a prize fund of 400 thousand rubles, and the competition partners are also ready to implement their ideas in the future. And the teams “Deadline Tamers”, “SKF” and Broke Designers received a special prize from the Art. Lebedev Studio: an annual subscription to “Mockapus”, an online tool with 3D mockups for effective presentations. Please note that “Mockapus” was available to all participants for free during the competition.

However, these are not the only awards. “Design Workshop is an excellent project that can develop many different directions, interest the younger generation and even help them decide on a profession. The project is useful because the contest participants gain good experience in developing souvenir products and promoting new projects that can help not only companies but also consumers.””, noted Daria Kashkareva, general director of event organization at TsNIIMash.
