The patented method is mainly relevant for solving text recognition problems in a video stream: the decision to “stop” the AI is made based on a forecast of the future.
The Russian developer of text recognition solutions Smart Engines has patented a technology in the United States to “stop” the work of artificial intelligence. A representative of the company informed RB.RU about this.
The essence of the technology is to “stop” the work of AI in time when recognizing text in a video stream. The patented method finds the optimal moment to stop, Smart Engines said.
“Smart Engines specialists have learned to predict the recognition result of the next frame and, if the current recognition result does not improve, a decision is made not to continue processing,” the company explained.
The principles of the patented technology can be used, among other things, in the field of computer vision and other fields in which there is video transmission, for example in robotics, computed tomography and unmanned vehicles.
A patent for this technology has already been received in Russia, Smart Engines clarified. The current patent is the company’s fifth in the United States as of 2023.
