The Sony Xperia 5V now costs over $1,000 worldwide. It also doesn’t come with anything – you’re just buying a phone.
Despite its large bezels, the Sony Xperia 5V looks and feels great in the hand. This is one of the few smartphones you can try using without a case. It also has wireless charging support, 3.5 mm headphone jack and IP68 water protection. Unfortunately, the fingerprint scanner does not work very well on the new product; Unlocking your smartphone using your face is much faster.
The maximum charging power supported by Xperia 5V is 30 W.
The screen diagonal of Sony Xperia 5V is 6.1 inches, the matrix is OLED. At the same time, the peak brightness is less than 1000 nits. In general, the screen is good, but nothing more. This does not match the price of the device.

The smartphone runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and has 8 GB of RAM. It gets quite hot under heavy load and the default refresh rate is set to 60Hz (switch to 120Hz for a smoother experience). Also in “heavy” games quite significant drops will be noticeable.
The battery capacity of Sony Xperia 5V is 5000 mAh. It will last you approximately 1.5-2 days with standard smartphone use. It discharges quickly only under heavy load. Additionally, the device will charge 100% in at least 1.5 hours.
The Xperia 5V’s selfie camera has a resolution of 12 MP and is generally quite good for blogging and video calls. As for the main module, its resolution is 52 MP with optical stabilization. There is also a 12 MP wide sensor. Unfortunately, the quality of photos taken with a wide-angle lens leaves much to be desired. Also, the zoom is digital, not optical.
The new product has a rather useless camera interface. It is impossible to take photos quickly and easily even in automatic mode. Photos taken with the main camera are quite good, but there is something strange. Daytime photos turn out great, but stability seems lacking. In other words, the smartphone either takes a great photo or a bad one. Night photos have noise and are combined with excellent detail.
The Xperia 5V also has a pretty impressive video mode. It will appeal to those who like to tinker with camera settings.
The price of Sony Xperia 5V is like a flagship, but at the same time it lags behind it in many aspects. For example, the screen is very weak, the battery is very slow. The camera of this smartphone is good, but the photos it takes in automatic mode are worse than its competitors. This model is generally unconventional, but it’s not for everyone.
