Raiffeisen Bank will allow its clients to trade cryptocurrencies

Raiffeisen Bank plans to add an option for customers to invest in cryptocurrencies. Customers in Vienna, where the organization’s headquarters are located, will be able to use the new service starting in January 2024, Coindesk reported.

The integration of cryptocurrency trading at Raiffeisen Bank was made possible after the bank signed a partnership agreement with cryptocurrency exchange Bitpanda. The organizations partnered in April 2023.

Cryptocurrency transactions will be carried out through the bank’s application, which will have access to the cryptocurrency exchange. The transaction process will be no different from the usual bank transfer, said Kurt Chadha, chief innovation officer at Raiffeisen Bank.

In November it became known that Raiffeisenbank had postponed its exit from the Russian market.
