Ozon Fresh has decided to expand the “Mercado” delivery service for fresh produce; It was previously only available in Moscow, but is now also available in St. Petersburg and Naberezhnye Chelny, the company said in a statement.
It should be noted that in just one year the turnover of products offered in the “Market” tripled and represented a third of the turnover of the entire Ozon fresh fruits and vegetables category. The range of fresh products directly from producers and importers has doubled.
“Market” products represent more than 30% of the entire assortment of the Ozon Fresh fruit and vegetable category and, as Ozon Fresh says, they can completely cover the consumer’s basic basket.
Currently, the most popular products of the service are “Courage” cucumbers (Russia), “Bull’s Heart” (Uzbekistan) and “Makhitos” tomatoes. There has also been an increase in sales of seasonal products such as raspberries and chanterelles.
“Market” is currently available in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Naberezhnye Chelny, and will be released in Kazan at the end of the year.
Ozon Fresh also plans to expand the range and introduce more specialized items and, in 2024, launch the service in other cities. Thus, it is planned to open the service in February in Krasnodar and Sochi.
