The assets of the Winter Capital venture fund, whose portfolio includes, in particular, ivi, Banki.ru and others, came under the control of the investment company Rockstone Ventures. The fund is expected to cease to exist.
The international investment company Rockstone Ventures has acquired control of the assets of the venture fund Winter Capital. This was reported by RIA Novosti. The amount and terms of the transaction are not disclosed.
Winter Capital is expected to cease to exist. Assets valued at more than $1 billion were under his management, and experts interviewed by the agency suggested that Winter Capital partners would launch a new fund with a new strategy in Russia.
The Winter Capital fund was created in 2015 by a team of five partners. A major investor in the fund was Vladimir Potanin’s Interros group.
Winter Capital initially focused on Russian startups and invested, for example, in the training platform GetCourse and the online school Skyeng. The fund then began investing in companies in Asia, the Middle East, India and North Africa.
