Ozon Marketplace is exploring the possibility of launching a brokerage service. The company is interested in expanding the ecosystem, especially its bank, Vedomosti reported citing sources.
A retail representative said Ozon currently has “no plans to launch its own broker.” According to the publication, the company is actively looking for employees for the intermediation service.
Ozon assured that they constantly work to develop their services, “so we periodically recruit new people with different experience.” Interlocutors of the newspaper stated that the retailer is interested in expanding the ecosystem, especially its bank.
The former head of corporate sales of VTB participated in the implementation of the project. In October, according to open data, he was appointed CEO of Ozon Invest, before having headed Ozon Fintech.
Ozon.Invest is a platform for Ozon sellers and partners whose goal is to find financing for business development. It was launched at the end of 2018. Since 2021, the service has become a b2b platform. Banks and fintech companies began providing loans.
