WhatsApp Web has started receiving the update that brings a new feature. The new thing is Sending photos and videos that disappear after a single viewA function already available in the messaging app for Android and iOS.

According to WABetaInfoThis feature was available for a small group of users “a few weeks ago”, but is now part of the stable version of the app for the entire community.

Tests to add the mechanism to WhatsApp Web have been ongoing for at least a year. However WhatsApp removed this functionality on PCs “for privacy reasons”while working on how to increase user protection on these platforms.

Now everything indicates that the company has decided to restore the feature in the app permanently. The innovation applies to its software. WhatsApp for Windows and macOS in addition to WhatsApp Web.

Since the update is done gradually and in waves, it is possible that not all users currently have access to single-view messages on their computers.

Temporary messages on WhatsApp

Sending temporary messages in the form of photos or videos on WhatsApp has been available for mobile since 2021. This is a way for users to send private or confidential content to their contacts.

In this sending method, files are not stored in systems, downloaded by the recipient, or forwarded to other people without permission. They also cannot be viewed when opened more than once.

In addition to this functionality, Messenger has recently started testing other user protection mechanisms. They also include hiding your IP in searches and using email as a form of account verification in addition to your phone number.
