Russian distributor Jamilco could start developing a French cosmetics brand that has not yet appeared on the Russian market. In October, the company received several declarations of conformity for Panier des Sens products, Kommersant has learned.
As the publication writes, citing sellers of cosmetic products, Panier des Sens, created in 2021, had not previously been represented in offline retail in the country. You can order delivery of the company’s products, for example, on Yandex.Market or through Sdek.
Panier des Sens, as the publication writes, is developing a network of boutiques in France and in the European Union sells cosmetics through distributors.
Today, Jamilco’s portfolio includes only one cosmetics brand. This is the Italian Kiko Milano, the distributor began working with him in 2019.
As Kommersant has learned, the average price of Panier des Sens products ranges between 10 and 28 euros. According to the executive director of the Association of Manufacturers of Perfumery, Cosmetics, Household Chemicals and Hygiene Products, Piotr Bobrovsky, today the Russian market is experiencing increased competition in the middle price segment, which includes Panier des Sens.
Therefore, without serious investments in promotion, products “risk being lost on shelves among the variety of other new products.”
After the departure of the largest Western brands, retailers were forced to look for a replacement among Turkish, South Korean and Belarusian manufacturers, says Yulia Semakova, director of strategic development and marketing at the Natura Siberica Group.
According to him, today the Russian perfume and cosmetics market is oversaturated, which could lead to a price war between manufacturers.
