Speaking at the film awards ceremony, Robert De Niro accused the company of censoring his speech. According to the actor, just before the start of the show, an Apple employee removed critical statements about Donald Trump and the entertainment industry from his speech.

De Niro, who was promoting Martin Scorsese’s “Blooming Moon Killers” distributed by Apple, noticed parts of his speech were missing from the teleprompter.

The actor decided to read the original text on his phone, expressing his views on the current state of history, truths and lies in society, as well as the role of the entertainment industry in this process.

According to Variety’s sources, an altered version of the speech was uploaded to the teleprompter by an Apple employee minutes before the ceremony began.

It was noted that the film crew wanted the actor’s speech to focus on the film. However, De Niro stated that he was not aware of the changes made.
