The cost of auto parts in ad aggregators and in passenger car insurance repair catalogs for 2023 increased by 7% to 17%. This is reflected in the cost of car maintenance, writes Vedomosti.

Auto parts have risen in price by up to 17% since the beginning of 2023

The head of the Russian Union of Automobile Insurers (RUA), Evgeny Ufimtsev, believes that the average increase in costs over the year was not so significant: taking into account currency fluctuations, prices could have increased more. Spare parts for some car brands have gone up in price, while for others they have gone down. Overall, the union believes the situation has stabilized.

The vehicle maintenance cost (MOT) will increase by approximately 10% to 15%. According to one of the market interlocutors, the cost of service from official distributors using original consumables will be more expensive, which means that the cost of their services will depend more on currency fluctuations.

The average cost of a standard hour of maintenance of passenger cars has remained practically unchanged this year and ranged from 700 to 2,000 rubles, notes Olga Selezneva, president of the Regional Association of Service Stations. She believes that the main problem is not spare parts, but the shortage of qualified auto mechanics and mechanics.

  • Russian dealers could not sell the remains of cars from brands that had left the country. For example, Kia had the 2022 Cerato and Seltos in stock, while Volkswagen had the Taos and Tiguan. The main reason cars have fallen behind is that they are much more expensive than at the beginning of last year, analysts say.
