This new service will work on the basis of the status information system and provide the opportunity to track the location of the vehicle. The system will help locate and search the vehicle in case of theft, with the owner’s permission.
Raikevich emphasized that there will be no need for significant changes to ERA-GLONASS devices to use this function. The SOS button built into the vehicle will be used to activate the service without the need for additional hardware modification.
The company began developing the new feature in response to increasing requests from vehicle owners for help locating stolen vehicles. This step will be an addition to existing ERA-GLONASS services that will not require additional equipment if the vehicle already has an SOS button.
