From December 11, the obligation to surrender a foreign passport within five days if a travel ban in Russia comes into force. The resolution was published on November 24 on the legal information portal.
The documents will be stored in the authorities that issued the document, for example, in the Ministry of the Interior or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as in organizations that have limited the possibility of traveling abroad.
The passport can be returned once travel restrictions are lifted. The ban may be imposed in connection with conscription, criminal proceedings, access to state secrets or bankruptcy.
In 2024, automatic passport control will appear in Vnukovo and Koltsovo. In-cabin scanning allows passport control to be carried out in just 30-45 seconds and without the influence of the human factor.
