Cryptocurrency exchange Binance will stop supporting the Russian national currency and stop listing it in trading pairs. The changes will take effect on January 31. The site reports this on its website.

Binance stops supporting ruble transactions

At the end of September, the platform announced that it would leave the Russian Federation and sell its Russian business to CommEX. Users will be able to carry out transactions with rubles on this platform. As Binance previously explained, users will move from one platform to another within a year.

Therefore, wallet holders will be able to withdraw rubles through the platform’s trust partners until January 31. They can also convert Russian currency into cryptocurrencies using “Conversion”.

Additionally, users have the opportunity to exchange rubles for cryptocurrencies on the Binance spot market. As of November 15, the cryptocurrency exchange stopped supporting ruble fiat deposits.

After the company announced that it was looking for options to sell its business in the Russian Federation, two top Russian managers left the stock exchange. Gleb Kostarev was vice president for Eastern Europe, CIS, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand, and Vladimir Smerkis was directly in charge of Russia.
