Passport data of more than 4,000 taxi drivers of the Citymobil taxi service were leaked to the network, according to the profile of the Telegram channel. A company representative confirmed the incident.
4149 passport photos of drivers were leaked online. The Telegram channel “Information Leaks” claims that they were freely available on the company’s website.
According to the Telegram channel Data1eaks, some of the images were taken in the cars.
The press service of the service told the TASS agency that an investigation has now begun, according to its results, the perpetrators will be held accountable – disciplinary action.
“We have also prepared and are preparing to send a notification to Roskomnadzor about the data breach in accordance with the law of the Russian Federation,” the Citymobil press service explained.
To clarify the circumstances of the incident, the company formed a separate headquarters, added the press service of the service. They also promised to take all necessary measures so that the situation does not happen again.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, said that billing fines of 3% could be introduced for the leakage of personal data. According to the minister, such measures will help motivate companies to invest more resources in their security systems.
