NUST MISIS reported a new quantum processor containing eight superconductor-type qubits. During tests, it showed high accuracy of more than 95%, making it the largest quantum solution in Russia with such a large qubit volume and extraordinary accuracy.

This 8-qubit processor, developed by MISIS experts in cooperation with MIPT and the Russian Quantum Center, even surpasses Rigetti’s advanced 80-qubit solution, which ranks second in the world in the number of qubits among superconductor-type systems. accuracy of two-qubit operations.

It is important to note that increasing the number of qubits in a processor does not always lead to an increase in its power. Developers emphasize that the increasing accuracy of calculations of each qubit plays a decisive role. In the future, the team plans to expand the quantum volume of the processor, increase accuracy by adding more qubits, and create quantum communication channels between processors in scalable systems.
