Russian video game developer Lesta (World of Tanks, World of Ships, Tanks Blitz) will launch a platform for the distribution of Base video games. The company will invest between 10 and 30 million dollars in publishing new games, writes Kommersant.
By the end of 2023, two games will appear on the site: the Chinese SuperBall and the Russian RPG Royal Quest MMO (massively multiplayer online game).
Next year, Lesta intends to expand the portfolio of published games to “six to ten projects, mainly Chinese and Korean titles.”
Target regions include Russia and Latin America. Therefore, the studio continues to try to diversify its business to reduce the share of revenue from its main projects, which the studio received after splitting the business with Wargaming.
Within five years, the company hopes that Base can earn between 20 and 30% of the turnover of its partner structure, Lesta Games.
Previously, Lesta Games announced that it would invest 100 million rubles in holding World of Tanks tournaments and launch an esports league in the discipline. This year the company has already held two tournaments and has two more planned. In 2024, it intends to celebrate five.
