In Venezuela you can now pay with cards from the Russian Mir payment system. Its use is available in POS terminals of the local bank Banco de Venezuela. This was reported by the press service of the payment system.
The service operates only in the tourist regions of the country, these are two Venezuelan states: the Capital District and Nueva Esparta. The geography of use includes the islands of Margarita Coche, Cabugua and Bolívar.
You can pay with the Mir card in shops, hotels, restaurants and other establishments served by Banco de Venezuela.
The press service clarified that POS terminals are installed in the most attractive places for tourists. In the future, the distribution area will be expanded.
Earlier this month it was reported that it would be possible to make payments in Russian rubles in Cuba. Local banks have adapted the Mir card for their POS terminals.
