Apple announced that its A17 Pro chip can now run some console games. But in reality, for example, Resident looks disgusting on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Of course it starts.

The game has a very unstable frame rate. It feels like it’s between 10 and 50 fps. Performance sometimes returns to normal but FPS is still very unstable. Therefore, it is quite uncomfortable to play even at minimum graphics settings. However, these settings have little impact on performance.

There are also compromises when running console games on the Nintendo Switch 2. But these are compromises on a completely different level than those of the iPhone. They say that everything is similar to PlayStation 5 on the console, which is a demo of “The Matrix” with all modern technologies such as DLSS. We also know with 99% accuracy which chip will be in the Nintendo Switch 2. This is on T234 ARM architecture. It’s very powerful, but it’s not for gaming, so it looks like it’s going to change a lot. Only in this way will the console be able to compete with all modern games with sufficient compromises and even rival PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
