The court sided with Epic Games. The essence of the case is the claims regarding the dominant position of Google in the market due to its ability to determine the fate of Android applications and the presence of an internal payment system in Google Play without the right of developers to choose alternatives.
The latest round of the legal battle lasted four weeks and involved interviews with numerous witnesses. As a result, the court came to Epic Games’ right side.
Google said it would not leave the case as it is and would appeal.
“After four weeks of detailed trial testimony, a California jury found against Google Play on all counts,” Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said on Social Media X.
