Aeroflot proposed to individually and extrajudicially resolve the situation with the cancellation of flight tickets in the direction Yekaterinburg – Phuket. The airline refunded all passengers’ money and provided coupons for a 30% discount on the purchase of tickets from the Russian Federation to the island. This is what he said in a statement.
According to the airline, approximately one thousand customers have already used the coupons and booked 2.2 thousand discounted plane tickets. Participants of the Aeroflot Bonus program were automatically credited with 5 thousand miles to their personal accounts of the loyalty program.
They also added that all justified demands in court will be met, and with passengers who contact the airline itself to resolve the situation, the matter can be resolved individually prior to trial.
Aeroflot also noted that, within the established requirements, there is no reason to pay the difference between the price of the flight set incorrectly and the price in effect at the time the consumer’s requirements were met.
Previously, 54 Aeroflot customers filed a class action lawsuit. The plaintiffs demand the return of the difference between the original cost of the tickets and the one that was valid at the time of filing the pre-trial claim: in terms of 54 clients, this is 7.5 million rubles. The company is also obliged to pay a fine and a court fine of 50% of the amount.
In October, the plaintiffs purchased tickets from Yekaterinburg to Thailand at prices ranging from 6,500 to 20,000 rubles round trip. Aeroflot later canceled the tickets, explaining that a technical problem had occurred.
