Carlsberg lost to Baltika in court over the use of licensing agreements for beer brands

The Danish brewery Carlsberg lost before the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region against the Russian company Baltika in the case of the use of licensing agreements for its beer brands. TASS reports this.

The unilateral refusal of Carlsberg Breweries A/S to sign agreements for the production and sale of the Holsten, Tuborg, Kronenbourg and Seth & Riley’s Garage beer brands was declared illegal.

Carlsberg announced the termination of agreements with Baltika in October 2023. The company subsequently accused Russian authorities of stealing its business, but the Ministry of Finance rejected these accusations.
