Imports of diamonds from Russia (direct and indirect) were subject to sanctions. Restrictions also apply to jewelry containing diamonds. The diamond sanctions will come into force on January 1, 2024 and the restrictions will be introduced in several stages.

The EU has also introduced restrictions on imports from Russia of lithium batteries, thermostats and products made of aluminum, cast iron, iron, copper; This also applies to sheets, wires and other metal objects. The monetary value of these sanctions is estimated at 2.2 billion euros per year.

The EU has extended the ban on the transit of dual-use goods to Russia. The re-export of particularly sensitive technologies and goods to Russia is prohibited, even when supplied to third countries.

Additionally, Russian citizens were banned from holding high-level positions in European crypto companies. In addition, 140 individuals and legal entities were included on the sanctions list.
