“Avto.ru” has added to the “Reports” service information about the history of used cars before their registration with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Russian Federation. A representative of the company informed RB.RU about this.
The database has been enriched with more than 5 million records from various foreign sources, including salvage auctions in the US and Europe. Data from the South Korean customs service also appeared.
Avto.ru notes that in the last two years the volume of car imports from South Korea has more than doubled. In the structure of parallel imports, transportation from the country occupies third place (share greater than 7%).
“Some events that influence the fate of a car, such as registration restrictions or accidents, can occur even before its registration in Russia. Previously, these red flags could go unnoticed by electronic systems, creating the risk of data manipulation and consumer deception,” the report states.
Increasing sources of information reduces the likelihood of purchasing a car with incorrect mileage or hidden damage, they say on Avto.ru.
