As TASS reports, citing law enforcement agencies, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Kosenko under two articles: failure to fulfill the obligations of raising a child and attempting to cause serious harm.

The reason for the trial was a video published in January 2024 on the blogger’s social networks during a vacation in Courchevel, in which Kosenko throws his two-month-old son into a snowdrift.

“The boy fell into a snowdrift, which allowed him to avoid serious injuries, that is, the criminal intent was not fulfilled due to circumstances beyond Kosenko’s control,” said the agency’s interlocutor.

The businessman appeared in the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

After posting the video, Kosenko said he wanted to “make the video more popular.” However, after criticism from subscribers, the information businessman wrote that a doll was used during the filming of the video:

“Did anyone really believe I would throw my own son into the snow?”

The blogger’s lawyer, Sergei Zhorin, also said that Kosenko threw a doll, which was not his own son, into a snowdrift and that he is willing to cooperate with the investigation.
