At the same time, this increase was not due to factors related to the pandemic. Instead, the researchers suggest that having free time during the curfew may have led to an increase in such messages among people.

The study notes that the launch of the Starlink satellite constellation by SpaceX also caused confusion – many mistook the satellites for UFOs.

Recall that experts have warned for years that many of these “observations” can be explained as natural phenomena or misidentified planes by ordinary people.
