WhatsApp is testing a new tool for screen sharing in video calls. In the experimental version of Messenger for iOS, an indication was found that participants could also transmit music and video audio during the chat.

The functionality was found in version 23.25.10.72 of WhatsApp Beta for iOS, but is not yet accessible to testers. HE WABetaInfo discovered the feature through an alert pop-up explaining how the new feature works.

“When you share your screen, the audio playing on your device will also be shared with call participants,” WhatsApp explains.

The new feature is a significant improvement to the screen sharing feature that has been available in the app since August 2023. This feature makes WhatsApp even more efficient as a video calling platform.

It is not possible to access the WhatsApp audio streaming tool for now. No predictions regarding feature availability until now.

In any case, testers are likely to be the first to learn about this capability. If you are one of them, stay tuned for updates released on Play Store and App Store.

New features of WhatsApp

WhatsApp continues to receive news constantly. One of the most interesting recent additions was single-play audio, which disappears after playing, just like photos and videos.

Messenger also included the ability to protect conversations with a password other than the device’s PIN, increasing the platform’s security layer.
