According to the official statement from Fntastic studio, the servers of the game The Day Before, which is in the completion stage, will be closed on January 22, 2024. The news was announced on social media, and those who purchased the game from Steam will now be able to request a refund. The studio explained that the closure occurred due to the impossibility of further work without laid-off developers, which made it impossible to support and develop the game.

It’s important to note that after The Day Before’s failure, third-party sites began selling keys to the game for $200 or more. The situation became clear after the game was removed from Steam. In the game itself, users faced issues such as technical glitches, poor quality, and optimization issues, leading to negative reviews. Fntastic announced their closure on December 11th, and on December 12th they removed the game from sales on Steam and began issuing refunds to all players.

According to the data, Fntastic earned $ 2.5 million in 2022, but a significant part of this amount went to founder salaries. Former developers were fired from the studio after receiving compensation in accordance with preliminary agreements following an unsuccessful release. All of them received two salaries in addition to the pay for the days they worked in December, holiday pay and more.
